When I add people, my dealbreakers are: don't be mean. You can be angry, sad or whatever you are feeling, but when you take it and turn it around on me, we're done. I've been a punching bag for far too long and for far too many people in my life. Not going to tolerate it.
Does anyone wanna play themes and motifs with me?

Gonna try to make a tradition of re-promoting myself yearly in January!
Name(s): Azure or Bede. I answer to both, so use whichever floats your boat!
Age group: Either elder gen Z or zillennial, depending on what website you consult. Regardless, I'm an adult!
Country: USA
Subscription/Access Policy: My journal is public, and I don't make locked posts! I'm squicked out by Harry Potter (I'm trans; I hope you can understand!) and Hazbin Hotel, and I have pedophilia/incest/rape as triggers. So, if you post about these things, or they feature heavily on your journal in some way, I'm gonna have to ask you to not add me. No hard feelings!
Other Info: I'm autistic and otherwise disabled, so please be patient with me! I'm from the South of the USA, so I use petnames very casually ("honey, darling, dear," etc). You can also (or alternatively) add my account for my fanfic and fandom meta exclusively,
fairyfic.
Main Fandoms: Pokemon, Cookie Run: Kingdom, Great God Grove, In Stars and Time, Kingdom Hearts
Other Fandoms: MILGRAM, Delicious in Dungeon, Splatoon, Undertale, Deltarune, Vocaloid/vocal synths, furry. I'm at least passively interested in most Nintendo franchises. Primarily in gaming fandom!
Fannish Interests: Drawing fanart, and writing fic and meta essays. I make webshrines dedicated to my fandoms. I love analyzing and writing about the queer-coding/queerness and mental health of characters. I'm a shameless wearer of favorite-character-goggles, and I'm a huge shipper. You can see more info about my fannish interests and activities here!
OTPs and Ships: A lot. At the moment, I'm mainly focusing on Sora/Riku (Kingdom Hearts), Shadow Milk Cookie/Pure Vanilla Cookie (Cookie Run), and Thespius/Click Clack (Great God Grove)!
Non-Fannish Interests: Disability, queerness, the indie web, alterhumanity, rabbits, internet culture, and archival

New year, new friends
Jan. 15th, 2026 04:27 pmAbout me:
My name is Katie. I'm 47 years old, and this summer will mark my 25th year of journaling on LJ/DW/both.
I'm a writer by profession, primarily of literary fiction with occasional book reviews for variety. I live in Philadelphia with my partner of 27 years (she's a high school physics teacher). We have a pair of eight-month-old kittens named Oscar and Zorro. I'm the oldest of three sisters in a pretty close-knit family. My sisters have five kids between them, and being an aunt is basically my favorite thing.
I love books and am always reading. Favorite authors include E.M. Forster, Marilynne Robinson, Leo Tolstoy, Virginia Woolf, Ursula K. Le Guin, Lauren Groff, Andrea Barrett.... The list could go on and on. I also love the outdoors and learning about nature. I've been a birdwatcher for years; more recently I've gotten into things like butterflies and insects, reptiles, wildflowers, and more. In summer, my favorite thing is finding wild orchids. My partner and I like to travel, and when we do, I use it as an opportunity to learn about the amazing variety of nature in other places.
In case you haven't already guessed, I'm a very introverted person. I spend most of my time at home, where I keep myself busy writing, reading, or in the kitchen. I like cooking, baking, and food preservation, and I'm always working on some sort of kitchen project or trying to teach myself a new skill.

About my journal:
My journal began as a place for me to keep track of my reading, and that's still the subject I write about most often. Other frequent topics include the interests mentioned above: writing, nature, cooking and baking. I tend to post more about what I'm thinking than about what I'm doing at any given time, although I do sometimes use my journal to keep track goals or record projects that I'm working on. I often include photos. I would say I post about once a week...but realistically it's probably a bit less than that.
If you're looking for a friend who comments on every single post, I'm probably not the right person for you. I do like to interact and I always read my friends page, but I prefer to comment only when I have something worth saying. Also, I've found over the years that I don't mesh well with extremely prolific posters. Once a day is fine, but if it's more than that I have trouble keeping up.
My journal is friends-locked for privacy, but I will be happy to add anyone who's interested in checking it out. And I won't be offended if it turns out that it's not your style.
Say hello if you think we'd get along!

Jan. 12th, 2026 06:31 pm[Fannish 50 #3] Story time: My first shiny Pokemon
Jan. 11th, 2026 07:38 pmHowever, the increase in likelihood was enough for my luck to change! Going around the Kalos region after having completed the main story, I ran into a shiny Abra. I was excited because, hey, my first random shiny encounter! But I was also... not so excited, for two reasons.
See, here's a not-shiny Abra on the left, and a shiny one on the right:

...They don't look all that different, huh? Yeah. For me, as for many, it's way more exciting for a shiny to look very different from the normal version of the Pokemon's colors... After all, that's the only difference. Shiny Pokemon aren't any stronger, they don't learn special moves, nothing like that. They just look neat!
But hey! A shiny's a shiny, and this was my first time encountering one at random! I wasn't about to pass that up, I had to catch it! Which leads to the second reason I was less than thrilled: Abra is rather infamously a pain to catch, as it will use the move Teleport to end the battle and escape on its first turn, without fail. There are ways to get around this if you're prepared, to be fair! But I wasn't!
Luckily, in turn-based Pokemon, you can use an item before your opponent makes their first move. So I threw a Pokeball, hoped for the best... And caught the shiny Abra! It turned a disappointing first shiny less disappointing, having caught it in a precarious situation. I don't have it anymore, though... While my second mon-guaranteed shiny, from that same save file of Pokemon X, is still in my Pokemon Home account, I believe I traded Abra for another shiny on a gaming forum. I can't remember which Pokemon the other shiny was, though.
I do kind of wish I still had it, but ultimately, my favorite part of that shiny is the story of finding and catching it. And ever since then, I've found wild shinies in many playthroughs, and done plenty of intentional shiny hunts to try and get specific Pokemon shiny! So that Abra did open the door to more!
...Though, Kalos might have a bit of a mischievous streak for me, when it comes to shiny Pokemon. In the second game to take place there, Legends: Z-A, I saw and failed to catch a shiny Pidgey, my first time failing a shiny! XD
sketchbook sundays - 001
Jan. 11th, 2026 05:24 pmas stated in my earlier entry: bumped into a couple of things i hadn't considered this first week back in the routine, so don't have too many sketches to share! nonetheless, they can be found below the cut!
( sketches from jan 05-11 )
january 2026 - week 01
Jan. 11th, 2026 11:25 amguess i'll start with how the first week using the new art schedule went.
in short: it went well! there're just a few things i quickly realized i hadn't accounted for in terms of cool down sketches. one of my friend groups has a weekly x-files night every monday or tuesday, which takes up what would have been sketching time. and wednesdays are a bit of a fuller weekday for me, meaning less time for art stuff. thinking i might do an "every other week" sort of things with wednesdays, where one week i use that art time for project work and the next week i use it for sketching time, then the next week i return to project work and so on.
been making great progress on nyxram's profile. i've got the doll for her closet samples finished, as well as the three bases for her turnaround. the challenging part is here, though, because now a lot of my time is gonna be spent re-designing her armor and also generally exploring what triceraton civvies may look like. my current approach is greek/roman attire with a bit of a space/futuristic twist. there're canonical nods toward roman aesthetics in the show, and i think the concept of clothing that's 'simple' and loose fitting works for who/what the triceratons are. ...now i just gotta fake it til i make it until something looks nice. but hey! gave myself a good window of time to get this whole thing completed, and this is why.
uuuh what else. --went to a small event yesterday with a friend! it was a bit last minute, but i'm glad i went. i've got about 24% of my root words for liáfsini's conlang locked in. i'm roughly halfway through two of the books i'm reading for a rat book club this month (one good, one cursed). been in a bit of physical discomfort the past few days, but i think that's just how shark week's gonna be since The Bullshit™ back in september. as far as things in my control have been, it's been a decent enough week.
--oh, i didn't get any art studies done, though, in part due to the unexpected event yesterday. other part because... i kinda forgot to settle on a topic of study for the month. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ fjdkfj my bad.
think that's all i got for now! will post a separate entry later today for sketchbook sunday, to keep my babbling and my art separate. take care! 🖤🌷

Gonna try to make a tradition of re-promoting myself yearly in January~
Name(s): Azure or Bede. I answer to both, so use whichever floats your boat!
Age: 20-something
Hobbies: Writing (fanfic, essays and fan analysis), drawing, editing (videos, images and gifs), coding, researching (almost exclusively things that don't matter), and gaming!
Fandoms: I mainly participate in video game fandoms! Right now, I'm really into Pokémon (my one true fandom), Cookie Run, Great God Grove, In Stars and Time, Kingdom Hearts, Vocaloid, and Splatoon. I'm at least passively interested in most Nintendo games, though. I'm also a furry (rabbit fursona)!
I mostly post about... My fandoms, non-fannish interests (including disability, queerness, the indie web, writing, art and alterhumanity), and some personal stuff!
I'm looking to meet people who... Have similar interests (whether that be fandom or non-fandom), or who just pass the vibe check and have interesting things to say.
My posting schedule tends to be... A little bit sporadic! I go through small periods of inactivity. When I come back, I always cross-post everything I've posted onto other platforms with the back-dating feature, though! I love commenting on other people's posts, and try to do it as often as possible.
When I add people, my dealbreakers are... Bigots, right-wingers, and AI "artists". Christians who try converting others, or who don't CW for religious discussion. (No offense to the latter, it's a personal thing.) Regarding fandom, I'm squicked out by Harry Potter (I'm trans; I hope you can understand!) and Hazbin Hotel, and have pedophilia/incest/rape as triggers.
Before you add me, you should know... I'm autistic and otherwise mentally disabled, so please be patient with me! I'm from the South of the USA, so I use petnames very casually ("honey, darling, dear," etc). You can also (or alternatively) add my account for my fanfic and fandom meta exclusively,
