Half-finished video game backlog woes...
Sep. 29th, 2025 09:12 pmIt is the worst trap I find myself falling into. I get a new game. I play the game. I end up enjoying the game quite a bit. I want to play through and at least see the end of the main story. Then something happens—maybe there was a major real life event that I had to deal with. Maybe I put down my Switch and decided to focus on something else like art for a while. Or maybe I simply bought another game that I ended up getting much more excited about. Either way, the game is quickly dropped and forgotten about, left to gather dust for months or even years. Even if I do remember it exists, it'll have been so long that I don't remember what was going on if it was a more plot-intensive game and end up restarting the entire thing. Rinse and repeat.
In any case, a major shoutout to all the games in my backlog that I did, in fact, start, was enjoying, and got at least 4 or 5 hours into before I got distracted by something else and forgot to keep playing. I will finish you all, someday.
